Time : 07:15 to 10:20

Conditions : Cool SW wind. Some sunshine but generally overcast and threatening rain.

c.15 Little Tern (Fishing offshore) ,

c.30 Sandwich Tern (Fishing offshore) ,

1 Fulmar (Flew east) ,

3 Glossy Ibis (Adult in BP flew west 08:02 accompanied/chased off by Shelduck. Two others in from high NE (09:22) onto Simmonds briefly before heading off west.) ,

6 Little Ringed Plover (Across three main scrapes) ,

1 Reed Warbler (Adult collecting food in front of Daukes Hide) ,

3 Cattle Egret (2 adults (one in fine BP), also one non-breeder. Pats Pool and off with cattle.) ,

4 Spoonbill (Adult and 2CY bird on Pats, adult west high and adult in from west joinng the two on Pats Pool.) ,

1 Common Tern (In from sea and over scrapes briefly.) ,

c.60 Swift (Feeding over reserve) ,

2 Little Egret (west) ,

1 Grey Heron (east) ,

Conditions : Overcast, dry until 09:30 then increasing intensity of rain.

4 Cattle Egret (Looking very smart. Near BP. All on or around Pats Pool.) ,

2 Spoonbill (Adult and 2CY, Pats Pool) ,

6 Little Ringed Plover (Pats and Simmonds) ,

24 Avocet (Pats and Simmonds. Considerable aggressive behaviourr) ,

c.2 Little Egret (Pats) ,

6 Mute Swan (Pats) ,

2 Oystercatcher (Simmonds) ,

15 Redshank (inc 3 chicks on Simmonds) ,

c.2 Marsh Harrier (Over reedbeds) ,

1 Dark-bellied Brent Goose (West along beach) ,

4 Teal (Drakes and a single female Simmonds) ,

24 Gadwall (Simmonds) ,

1 Little Tern (west) ,

2 Sandwich Tern (west) ,

1 Hobby (Hunting over reedbeds) ,

1 Cuckoo (Protracted views of a perched up and calling bird north of Pats Pool. Pushed around by Pipits!) ,
