The third indoor meeting of the season will take place at Cley Village Hall on Thursday December 18th when Simon Harrap will be speaking on ‘Norfolk Flowers‘.
This will be a joint meeting with NWT North Norfolk Group. Doors will be open from 7:00pm. The talk starts at 7:30 pm. Entry is £3. This talk is kindly sponsored by Mark Lynton. The talk will followed by Festive Refreshments. During the evening Simon will be selling and signing copies of his latest book Harrap’s Wild Flowers 2nd edition.
Simon will be known to many as the joint proprietor, with Anne Harrap, of Natural Surroundings, the nursery, gardens and cafe at Bayfield. He had a long career as a tour guide for the bird tour company ‘Birdquest’. He has written several books, including Tits, Nuthatches & Treecreepers ( with David Quinn), Where to Watch Birds in Britain ( with Nigel Redman), RSPB Pocket Guide to British Birds, Harrap’s Wild Flowers, Flowers of the Norfolk Coast, Flowers of the Norfolk Broads and, with Anne, Orchids of Britain and Ireland: A Field and Site Guide. He has been chair of the Norfolk & Norwich Naturalists’ Society and for many years has been involved in managing Holt Lowes.
