The River Glaven flows into the Harbour through the New Cut from Cley where it is also joined by water draining from the marshes to the east through the Sluices on Beach Rd.
‘Blakeney Pit’ is the deepest part.
The harbour is great for feeding waders at low tide and fishing terns at high tide. An American Golden Plover was present here in 2009 and 2010. Divers, Sea ducks and grebes can often be found here in winter.
