120 Canada Goose (in one flock on Salthouse Marsh), 400 Wigeon, 650 Teal, 9 Marsh Harrier (upto 9. 3 regularly through the day and 9 together in the air late PM), 1 Sparrowhawk (Male over Simmonds), 1 Merlin (Female hunting over Watling Water early morning), 1 Peregrine Falcon (over Simmonds AM and another (?) flying east at 1 5:45), 2 Avocet (On Simmonds inc one with no left foot), 150 Golden Plover (approx on Popes), 3 Grey Plover (off Arnolds and flew NW AM), 400 Lapwing (Reserve wide), 9 Dunlin (mainly on Pats), 30 Ruff (PM on Pats), 19 Black-tailed Godwit (Simmonds), 80 Curlew (Reserve wide), 1 Turnstone (Simmonds), Water Pipit (David Griffiths) (87751 bytes) 4 Water Pipit (At N end of Simmonds AM and one in front of Avocet Hide PM), 1 Isabelline Wheatear (North of Arnolds all day), 5 Cetti's Warbler (sub-song across reserve. 1 Peregrine Falcon (2CY Female sat on her usual perch surveying her domain.), 1 Herring Gull (Interesting 1st Win Cach x Herring hybrid.Caused some debate. In with 260+ LWHG. Looked good for Cach but issues for me with bill. scaps, coverts and tertials, cautiously pushing it to Hybrid. ), 2 Yellow-legged Gull (Including regular Ad.), 1 Caspian Gull (Dark smudgy eyed 2nd CY. Seen at 07:30 and looking soaked, feeding well but skittish - looked a different bird when dried out and performing well for the crowds. , 09:00 to 15:15, Increasingly chilly afternoon, cloud gathering from late morning after sunny start.

portrait at dusk (Tom Whiley) (93847 bytes) 1 Isabelline Wheatear (Found around 100 yards east of the north end of East Bank, on top of the shingle ridge (initially picked up south of the sluice...) the bird showed fabulously well before midday. It became elusive, heading to the back of Sea Pool for a while, then performed brilliantly again mid afternoon. Stunning, subtle bird in the very place I've always dreamed of discovering one. ), 45 Snow Bunting (in flight over the Wheatear at times, spectacular) [Mark Golley]

First set almost over BH. Stonkers .), 4 Great Crested Grebe (+, Several West. One or two loafing just offshore), 1 Shag (Foraging around Wreck.), 1 Peregrine Falcon (Female in off from distance carrying large prey. Harassed by LWHG but easily bamboozled that and worked high plucking the prey as it went. Spanking.), 1 Manx Shearwater (East close inshore, another treat.), 400 Gannet (+, Once again what a feeding frenzy spectacle. Filled the sky.), 2 Sanderling (West through surf.), 1 Grey Phalarope (Another blink and you miss it, so quick through surf.), 29 Pomarine Skua (Exciting passage once wind turned and increased. Mainly Juvs East but at least three Ad Pale Phase. Almost thigh rubbing but not quite, but still breathtaking. What a day.), 4 Arctic Skua (Pale Phase Ad’s plus one intermediate Juv being harassed by a Pom. Seawatching at its finest.), 25 Great Skua (Always enjoy these bully-boys going through. Several doing what they do best...mugging GBBG’s. Stunning.), 25 Little Gull (+, Always great to see these dancing past.), 42 Great Black-backed Gull (String of these ruffians East, notable.), 1000 Kittiwake (+, Constant stream through East, then few back East late pm.), 500 Guillemot/Razorbill (+, Numbers in necklaces East.), 4 Little Auk (As usual blink and you miss them.
