AuthorTopic: A new bird club for NE Norfolk
David & Pat Wileman A new bird club for NE Norfolkposted at 12/01/2015 20:44:22

We have been asked to load this on behalf of the new NENBC

New Year is always an exciting time for birders - a time for resolutions,
renewal and eager expectation. But for those who live or bird in Norfolk 2015
holds something special - the creation of a brand new birding organisation!!
The North East Norfolk Bird Club (NENBC), serving the birding communities of
Melton, Briston, Holt, Sheringham, Cromer, North Walsham and Aylsham,
contains within its designated recording area some of the county’s premier
birding locations, together with acres of under-watched or undiscovered
habitat and has played host to over 350 species. With a full programme of
indoor meetings, outdoor bird walks and other social events, our aim is to
bring together those people with a love and concern for birds in our area, to
share knowledge and information, encourage participation in exploring our
rich wildlife heritage and promote awareness of our threatened natural
environment. We aim to be a sociable, inclusive and informative club, which
plays a vital role in the local birding community.

Visit the website www.nenbc.co.uk for details of the inaugural indoor meeting (also on the Activities/Other Groups page on this website) and on how to become part of Norfolk’s newest birding initiative.

Thanks Dave & Pat for posting this 'advert' for the new Bird Club - NENBC.
As some of us who attended last nights informative CBC talk by Steve Hayman agreed, the new club - which has shared boundaries with the 'Cley Square', is intended to be complimentary to/with Cley Bird Club and should in no way be regarded as an alternative. We very much hope that the two clubs will derive benefits from each other and that birders will feel comfortable being members of both. The NENBC website, which is still very much in it's infancy, has all the details about our aims and intentions as a club, upcoming events, how to join, and is already posting news of interesting bird sightings in our eight x 10k square recording area. Why not take a look today at NENBC.co.uk Trevor
